So, a lot has been happening lately. Leah comes back from Japan tomorrow; I haven’t seen her for 6 weeks! I can’t wait to hear her stories. I finally developed my photos from Thailand, and I’m putting them in a photo album—so anyone who wants to see them, just tell me! I’m writing captions for them right now. It’s my parent’s anniversary tonight, too. We celebrated last night by going to a restaurant with a mariachi band—an interesting experience, to say the least. The band was actually really good, and my parents loved it, but it was just a little on the loud side. It’s not very comfortable to eat your dinner with someone playing the trumpet right next to your ear (at least in my opinion).
Cammy is in London right now—shoutout to Cammy! Hi Cammy! who is reading this blog from far, far away. I am so jealous of her! She has already seen Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and quite possibly the London Zoo! Ah well; everyone deserves a nice trip now and then, I suppose.
I’ve also been very into buying CD’s lately; the last four I bought were very different: A blues CD by “Spider” John Koerner, an REM compilation, Kylie Minogue (finally!), and Coldplay (also finally!). I think by the time I listened to “Rush of Blood to the Head” on the Coldplay CD, my love and respect for the band had multiplied by about fifty. That CD is REALLY good! And I know I’m the last person on earth to come to that realization, but I must share my recent epiphany! So yeah. I’m a big fan of them now. And I listen to the CD over and over and over again. Kylie Minogue, on the other hand, is a different story. The CD kind of, ahem, sucks. But it’s ok—at least I own it now! And I can listen to “Come into My World” as much as I want! Hooray!
Finally, before I finish, I must vent my frustration and anger that I will not get to see another White Stripes concert before they stop touring—they play in LA on the day after I leave to go up to Davis! Why? Why? Anyone who has brought up the WS to me since I’ve been back has already heard my sad tale. But yes. Now everyone knows. At least they’re on the cover of Spin Magazine, with lots of photos…
