Creepy!!!
So, I have become a big fan of Lizzie McGuire this summer (if anyone wants to know why, just ask Pauline), and I am especially a recent fan of Gordo, aka Adam Lamberg, who is basically the only cute guy on the show. And I thought, ok, so what if he's 15 years old in real life? He's cute!
nice shirt, too
And I looked him up on the movie database...he's 19 years old in September!!!! He looks so young!! Anyone who's watched the show knows what I'm talking about. I seriously think there's something wrong with him! He's only 5' 4", too. Scary.
Ok...so I was in Death Valley for three nights. And that's why I haven't been updating. While I was there (with me fam), it was around 110 degrees every day. Pretty crazy. In fact, we appeared to be the only Californians (or Americans, for that matter) crazy enough to stay in Death Valley at the end of August. We were seriously surrounded by Europeans during the whole trip--the majority were either Italian or French. It was cool though, to be able to pick out all of the Europeans by their clothing. European men wear very feminine shoes!
And tomorrow, we're going on part 2 of the trip, to stay at the beach house in San Clemente for a week. And we're taking Kim!! for the first time!! This should be an interesting experience, considering how hyper Kim usually is. But I'm definitely looking forward to the trip. A week on the beach!
And I believe my good friend Hannah is in (or at least on the way to) Utah right now! I wish you well, Hannah! Keep blogging, man! You're like, the only one besides Cammy who reads my site!! (I promise, that's not the only reason you're my friend.)

Where is my best friend Cammy?
Once again, sometimes I just don't know what the White Stripes are thinking. All of their music videos are awesome...until their most recent one. It's a cover of Burt Bacharach's song, "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself." The video is directed by Sofia Coppola, and the whole video is just Kate Moss dancing around like she's in a Victoria's Secret commercial. I think it wil be debuting on MTV 2 pretty soon. Very odd!

it's official
The White Stripes song, not the person.
Yeah, so I just watched Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Yes, I know the title is horrible, and people probably wonder why I watched such trashy TV, but it was actually kind of good! In a reality-tv way, anyway. And the gay guys were very stereotypical, "swishy" types, as Mom called them. But by the end, Leah, Mom, and I were all sucked in. Tell me what you guys think. Am I the only person who watched this show?

It feels like sooo long since I’ve blogged! 6 days! Sheesh. Well, let’s see…I had a really nice time at Hannah’s party on the 9th—her backyard looked so pretty! And it was nice to see people. And listen to 80’s music. Ha ha. Then on the 10th and 11th, I visited my cuzins. They are so cool! They live in Virginia, so I don’t see them very often, and we had some fun hanging out at my aunt’s in San Diego. Then on Tuesday I went shopping at Ikea for sheets for my dorm. Yes! Except they were out of the sheets I really wanted, which are red with white bunny rabbits (they’re kids sheets). So I have to go back in a few days. Bummer.
And then yesterday, we (me mum, sister, and I) went to Little India, which is in Artesia. It’s so cool there! It’s the best place to go for, well, Indian stuff! Which, if you’re like me, you think is awesome! We went to this one place that sold bed covers and tapestries and stuff, and they had an area with photos of famous people who had come into the store. Well, I didn’t know most of them, but they had a picture with Cher (ha ha!), and then I noticed two people that looked familiar…Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal!!(sp?) I started yelling at Leah, “Look! It’s No Doubt!” And the owner-lady heard me and came over to say that Tony is a friend of the family that owns the store, and he comes to all of their birthday celebrations and stuff. So I thought that was really exciting. Especially because Tony is HOT. Maybe I should just hang out at that store all the time.
See, I told you he was hot.

So yeah. That was the highlight of my day yesterday. Oh yeah, and we also had a REALLY good Indian lunch in Artesia, too.
Oh, and I saw Freaky Friday today, if anyone cares. It was actually one of the best “cheesy family type” of movies I can remember seeing in a long time.

Ah-nowld
Arnold the governator. Well, I'd vote for him over quite a few of the others that are running...

psst! For anyone who cares, I changed the pic of the White Stripes that never came out. I think the new one is even better. Go look at it!
Ok, I have two things I have to blog about and get off my chest:
1. Pirates of the Caribbean! I just saw it, like 2 hours ago with Christina and my sister—it’s pretty good. It had some slow parts and I’m not saying it wasn’t a little predictable, but…Johnny Depp!!! He was so awesome!! I loved his character, I mean come on? Who can resist lots of smeared black eyeshadow, dreadlocks, and the hilarious way that he walked? A hippie pirate! I couldn’t stop laughing whenever he was on!
man oh man

I mean, sure, Orlando had his moments, but he just can’t compare to Johnny Depp.
twice the fun
Yeah. So at the moment I'm a little on the obsessed side. I'm sure I"ll be fine by tomorrow. Really.

Okay, now for
2. I finished Harry Potter! And I can’t believe who died! I won’t say who it is, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet and doesn’t want to know, but, really! Come on! That was the one person I DIDN’T want to die! Out of any of them! I got so wrapped up in this book (I think because it’s so long, and I was reading it nonstop), and it made me so depressed! All I can say is, he better come back to life in one of the next books! Or else!
Ok. I think it’s time for me to stop ranting. I will try to be calmer tomorrow. Maybe a little meditation.

So, a lot has been happening lately. Leah comes back from Japan tomorrow; I haven’t seen her for 6 weeks! I can’t wait to hear her stories. I finally developed my photos from Thailand, and I’m putting them in a photo album—so anyone who wants to see them, just tell me! I’m writing captions for them right now. It’s my parent’s anniversary tonight, too. We celebrated last night by going to a restaurant with a mariachi band—an interesting experience, to say the least. The band was actually really good, and my parents loved it, but it was just a little on the loud side. It’s not very comfortable to eat your dinner with someone playing the trumpet right next to your ear (at least in my opinion).
Cammy is in London right now—shoutout to Cammy! Hi Cammy! who is reading this blog from far, far away. I am so jealous of her! She has already seen Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and quite possibly the London Zoo! Ah well; everyone deserves a nice trip now and then, I suppose.
I’ve also been very into buying CD’s lately; the last four I bought were very different: A blues CD by “Spider” John Koerner, an REM compilation, Kylie Minogue (finally!), and Coldplay (also finally!). I think by the time I listened to “Rush of Blood to the Head” on the Coldplay CD, my love and respect for the band had multiplied by about fifty. That CD is REALLY good! And I know I’m the last person on earth to come to that realization, but I must share my recent epiphany! So yeah. I’m a big fan of them now. And I listen to the CD over and over and over again. Kylie Minogue, on the other hand, is a different story. The CD kind of, ahem, sucks. But it’s ok—at least I own it now! And I can listen to “Come into My World” as much as I want! Hooray!
Finally, before I finish, I must vent my frustration and anger that I will not get to see another White Stripes concert before they stop touring—they play in LA on the day after I leave to go up to Davis! Why? Why? Anyone who has brought up the WS to me since I’ve been back has already heard my sad tale. But yes. Now everyone knows. At least they’re on the cover of Spin Magazine, with lots of photos…
